RAMSAC AND MIMECAST PUT EMAIL MANAGEMENT AT THE TOP OF THE SURREY BUSINESS AGENDA
South East Professional Services Forum, 7th November 2006, 17:00 – 18:30,
ramsac, Ashcombe Court, Godalming, Surrey
ramsac, a leading IT solutions consultancy, today announced that the next South East Professional Services Forum will focus on the importance of email security, storage and retrieval for small to medium sized enterprises. Email management experts Mimecast, will present to local Surrey SMEs at the free forum hosted by ramsac at its offices in Godalming on the 7th November.
"Most companies are realising that they now need to keep two copies of each email. One for the end user to manage as they see fit and another for the company's records. The company's copy is needed to maintain effective business records, defend any legal positions, manage risks and ensure profitable continuity of the business;" comments Peter Bauer, Director at Mimecast. “This new storage and information management requirement puts companies' IT resources under unplanned pressure, but there are cost effective ways to achieve ideal results."
“With the introduction of new technologies, email traffic is set to double over the next six years and with increased bandwidth will come larger email attachments which all need to be stored for compliance. It is therefore important that SMEs are aware of the need for a robust email management strategy, which is why we have decided to focus on this very important issue in our latest forum.” Adds Robert May, Managing Director of ramsac.
Comprehensive email management strategies should include six essential elements: capability, control, continuity, compliance, carbon and costs. It is often the case that organisations use individual servers and/or additional storage devices to archive large volumes of emails – over time these additional devices will no longer become cost effective. Organisations therefore need to assess their current and future email management requirements and look to sourcing an online system that is capable of complying with the six C’s of email management.
The South East Professional Services Forum is designed to ensure that local businesses are kept abreast of new technologies, the latest concepts and relevant government legislations. This next forum will demonstrate how local businesses can safe guard their emails and provide guidance on how email management can be secured in the future.
The South East Professional Services Forum will be held on Tuesday 7th November 2006 at the ramsac offices in Ashcombe Court, Godalming, Surrey. Contact Melanie Wilcock to book your place (melanie.wilcock@ramsac.com).
