Gifford Grant Outsources IT Management to ramsac
ramsac, the Surrey-based IT consultancy has announced that it has been appointed by Gifford Grant to manage all of its IT infrastructure at its headquarters in Fleet, Hampshire. Gifford Grant is one of the UK's leading independent design and build, building refurbishment and fitting out companies.
Explains Ian Brown, consultant at Gifford Grant, “Gifford Grant takes a unique approach to commercial interiors, building refurbishment and company relocation projects. We create efficient working environments for our clients and flexibility in approach and service are the key goals of our highly focused team. Our projects range from new showroom fit outs for the world’s oldest Aston Martin dealer to a re-commissioning project for a data centre with space for over 300 racks at a secret location.”
He continues, “We had quite an old IT system that was being maintained by a freelance consultant. With staff using the network and working with technical design packages such as AutoCAD, the system was slow and unreliable, and we didn’t feel that we were getting the advice or support we needed in terms of developing the system. As an SME, we don’t have the resource or need to invest in a full-time IT manager ourselves but at the same time, we realised that we needed more than a freelance consultant to give us strategic advice as well as tactical support for our system. ramsac seemed the perfect solution with their promise to make IT stress-free.”
Technical Consultant at ramsac, Paul Mew, adds “ramsac offers a ‘menu’ of outsourced services that allows clients to match their individual needs. For some clients it may simply be support at the end of the phone, for others a part-time network manager, for many businesses it’s help in developing a longer term overall IT strategy. “
During the initial meeting, ramsac carried out an IT audit of Gifford Grant’s old system. From here the team was able to quickly identify problem areas and accordingly recommend server solutions and software to provide a stable and secure IT platform for their business needs. ramsac also provided full remote access to allow Gifford Grant’s staff to access the system from remote client sites, or from home.
Adds Ian Brown, “By using the most up to date resources and constant investment in training and technology, we have been able to continue our expansion whilst retaining high levels of quality and service. We employ experienced staff with a 'can-do' approach, and empower them to act and make decisions. We expect the same level of efficient and flexible service from our partners and are delighted to have found an obvious associate in ramsac.”
Continues Paul Mew, “Moving forward we are now managing Gifford Grant’s network and working with them to ensure that it grows with their business and supports their projects. Each month, a ramsac network manager carries out health checks on the system and meets with the management team to ensure that everything is as it should be and to advise on future development.”
