RAMSAC SUPPORTS FAITHLESS, RADIOHEAD AND MORRISSEY AT THE 2006 V FESTIVAL
Event Promoters and Production Teams Benefit From Wireless Internet and Email Access
ramsac, a leading IT solutions consultancy, today announced that its has been appointed to provide wirelessly enabled internet and email access at the 2006 V Festival at Hylands Park. For the third year in succession, ramsac has been chosen by event promoters, to deliver Internet and email access to their temporary on-site offices and for the production teams of performers that include headline acts such as Faithless, Radiohead and Morrissey.
The Virgin Mobile sponsored V Festival takes place on the 19th and 20th August 2006 at Hylands Park in Chelmsford and Weston Park in Staffordshire and expects to attract over 135,000 fans. Each of the 80 acts billed to appear over the weekend have individual production teams that require access to Internet and email.
Bob Angus - Director of the V Festival explains, “It is very important that the production teams of the headline and supporting acts have Internet access and as the festival promoters, we must have access to our company network to co-ordinate all event logistics.”
ramsac will be setting up a secure connection for the organisers to connect to their office via a Citrix enabled network. The consultancy will also be ensuring that three out of the four live music stages have wireless access backstage for production teams to access information from their dressing rooms.
Technical Consultant at ramsac, Paul Mew, comments, “We have a dedicated support team on hand throughout the weekend to ensure that all technical problems are rectified as soon as possible. Some of the supporting acts only have limited time in their dressing rooms, so it is essential that they are able to access the Internet and their emails instantly.”
Bob Angus from the V Festival adds, “ramsac has provided excellent backstage IT support for the past two years and we are very happy that they have decided to accept the challenge for the third year running.”
